It was formerly known as Châteauroux-Déols "Marcel Dassault" Airport (''Aéroport Chateauroux-Deols "Marcel Dassault"''). The airport is named for Marcel Dassault and is located on the site of the former Châteauroux-Déols Air Base. A workforce of 20 people dismantles and recycles aircraft in conditions that meet the highest standards of protection of the environment and for ensuring security regarding the re-use of aeronautical parts.
